SINOPSIS
Los habitantes de una pequeña comunidad en Veracruz son los guardianes de uno de los ecosistemas con mayor riesgo en el país, el bosque de niebla. Allí intentan rediseñar su propia cultura: necesidades, alimentación, educación y la relación con otras personas y con la misma naturaleza, buscando con esto una vida mucho más sencilla y sostenible.
SYNOPSIS
The people of a small community in Veracruz are the guardians of one of the ecosystems facing the most risk in the country: the cloud forest. They are trying to redesign their own culture: needs, food, education and relationship with other people and with nature, searching for a simpler and sustainable life.
MÓNICA ÁLVAREZ FRANCO
BIOGRAFÍA
Estudió Medios Audiovisuales en México y la maestría de Documental Creativo en Madrid. Entre su trabajo destaca Venus y Arturo, cortometraje documental que participó dentro del Guanajuato International Film Festival y el Festival Internacional de Cine Documental, DOCSDF. Fue parte de la organización del Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara y llevó a cabo el DocsForum espacio formativo de DOCSDF. En el 2017 termina su opera prima Bosque de Niebla.
BIOGRAPHY
After studying AV Media in Mexico and a Master's Degree in Creative Docu-mentary in Madrid, Spain, she wrote and directed several short documen-taries, including "Venus y Arturo", which was featured in the Guanajuato In-ternational Fim Festival and the International Film Festival DOCSDF. She was part of the organisation of film festivals such as Guadalajara International Film Festival and DOCSDF. She carried out DocsForum, a formative space within DOCSDF. In 2017 she finished her first feature Bosque de Niebla (The Cloud Forest).

TEXTO DE LA DIRECTORA
El nacimiento de mi hija Martina me lleva a la necesidad personal de acercarme a quienes trabajan en una lucha continua por generar cambios, cambios que rompen paradigmas y nos encuentran con un ser humano mucho más “humano”, aquel que ha logrado conectarse con su entorno, y a partir de esto cuestionarse hasta lograr mostrarse desde su propia esencia.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
The birth of my daughter comes with a personal need of getting close to those who are in a constant struggle to generate changes that can break paradigms and than lead us to a “more human” human being, one that has been able to connect with their environment thus being able to question themselves until they can show themselves from their own essence.
